Yes! McBain IT can recommend and assist in the purchase of new desktops and laptops based on your usage requirements. We can also help you configure and load any new or existing software that you require.
McBain IT can setup and resolve simple printer issues. We are also able to recommend options for purchasing new printers or consumables like toners.
McBain IT comes to you. We need to see what your issue is, or how you intend to use your technology in your home. If we need to take it away for repairs, you can trust us to look after your equipment and data. We will provide an estimate on the repairs or upgrades required.
No nonsense pricing.
Senior’s Card holders – Flat rate $50/hour part thereof.
Standard rate – Flat rate $90/hour part thereof.
McBain IT does not charge card processing fees.
Travel fees will be advised only if journey is greater than 30 kilometres from base.
You can pay us by cash, credit or debit card. You will receive a receipt.
We don’t accept AfterPay etc. or other merchants outside credit cards.
These Terms and Conditions specified are in no way intended to limit or reduce your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law (“ACL”) and the ACL shall prevail wherever inconsistencies occur.
Customer Responsibilities
McBain IT is not responsible for lost data under any circumstances and recommends that you back up all vital data on a regular basis. In particular, prior to any onsite service, McBain IT can back up your data prior to the commencement of any work as part of the standard service charge rate. This back-up can be supplied and retained by the customer for the cost of the drive. This customer data back-up will not be retained by McBain IT and deleted once the device(s) repairs or service has been confirmed as operational.
Onsite services require availability to connect the equipment to power within the immediate vicinity. The internet and/or home network should be activated or available. All customer software must be legally licensed. The customer must have any prerequisite hardware devices, components, software, cables, and cabling, at the time of the onsite service. McBain IT will endeavour to source new or second-hand replacement components where the existing components have been found to be defective, at the cost of the customer.
Onsite services require the working environment to meet the South Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations. McBain IT reserves the right to leave the site if the technician believes that the environment does not meet these requirements. McBain IT will not charge for service that does not commence in a WHS scenario.
Onsite services require an adult of 18 years and over to be available for the entire service and at the agreed time. McBain IT reserves the right to refuse attendance for subsequent onsite service calls, for repeated failure to be available at the agreed date/time.
McBain IT will supply any new or replacement products according to the manufacturer warranty or reseller conditions, respectively. The customer is responsible on completion of the service for meeting all manufacturer warranty conditions ongoing on your products. McBain IT accepts no responsibility or liability for the consequences of any breach to warranty or reseller conditions that may occur during the delivery of a service call. The customer is responsible for retaining all packaging associated with any new or replacement products for the life of the warranty period.

McBain IT reserves the right to withdraw from any active service call at any time with no customer charge.
McBain IT service details and prices are correct at the time of listing on the website but are subject to change without notice.
McBain IT service for senior card holders only applies to technology owned and operated by the card holder. McBain IT reserves the right to charge standard pricing rates, if they believe the service is not for the seniors’ card holder. McBain IT personnel have an active South Australian Police Clearance for working with Aged Care and Vulnerable people.
McBain IT will not charge an additional travel surcharge, except for calls greater than 50kms travel return. The additional travel surcharge for calls is also listed under Pricing.
McBain IT operating hours are Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm) excluding public holidays.
McBain IT will notify the customer where possible when attendance cannot be made, due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances. (e.g. illness, car breakdown, parts not available etc.)
General
Products and or services which are deemed non-transferable are only for use by the person who activated the product and cannot be used by any other person.
McBain IT does not support illegal software products or practices and will not provide any service related to or depending on them.
McBain IT may utilise other companies’ products (3rd party) for the delivery of a service such as virus protection or back up software, and in these circumstances the terms and conditions of these 3rd party products as set out on their website also apply.
McBain IT will consider any technical matter that might be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty and accordingly refer you to the manufacturer. McBain IT is not responsible for any ensuing costs or delays even if ultimately the problem was not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. McBain IT will handle any warranty claims for new and replacement products supplied as part of a service call, if all original product packaging and vendor receipting has been retained by the customer.
McBain IT support will be provided to the best of our ability, however McBain IT makes no guarantees as to the service quality nor does it accept responsibility and liability for ongoing support matters other than those provided for in the ACCC Consumer Guarantees.
McBain IT makes no guarantees nor accepts any responsibility or liability for any consequential direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from its utilisation of 3rd party products, technical and operational matters or from delays of any nature or cause whatsoever.
Subject to the customers statutory rights under the Australia Trade Practices Act or other similar state and territory laws, all entitlements, and the liability of McBain IT and/or their reseller is expressly limited to the cost of the service being provided.
McBain IT will provide a recommended solution for any repairs or service unable to be performed. Any waiving of the service charge will be at the discretion of McBain IT, assessed on a fair value basis.
Payment
All service charges must be finalised at completion of the onsite attendance. No invoices will be sent out. Cash, credit/debit card will be accepted. No cheques, third-party digital credit providers (e.g. Afterpay etc.)
Any new, replacement parts, software licenses (including any postage/delivery) must be paid in full and in advance prior to installation. The customer will own any supplied new, replacement parts and software licenses at completion and full payment of the service call.
